Discovering Port En Plein Air Participation Opportunity

May 18 and July 20, 2019

Paint the City of Port Washington at your convenience over the course of ten weeks. For those who prefer to paint with a group, there are four meet up dates with a different guest plein air artist and painting location each time. There is no instruction.

Meet- Up Dates and Painting Locations The group will gather at 303 N. Franklin Street before heading out to paint. Saturday, May 18 Historic Architecture

Saturday, June 15 Marina

Saturday, June 29 Lakefront (not Marina)  with Erin Callahan Blum

Saturday, July 13 Main Street and Market

Plein Air Exhibition at Gallery 224 August 2 – August 24

You may submit up to 3 paintings for one $35 entry fee. See next item.

For paintings painted in the City of Port Washington between May 18 and July 20. Frame with wire on back.. You will be notified if accepted. 30% commission.

The four guest artists for the meet-ups are judges. $250 cash prize awarded for best painting in these categories:

Best Historic Architecture Painting

Best Main Street Painting, (street scene, festival, market, people)

Best Marina Painting

Best Lake Front Painting (not Marina)

 Tuesdays~All adult ages welcome! Beginner & intermediate painters will have fun loosening up and having fun pouring waterfall. Bring a photo you took yourself: sunset, water or your imagination! Plan a design, draw onto watercolor paper, staple down and have fun pouring onto your paper in stages.  Bring your own watercolor supplies & tubes of watercolor that are not dried up, as you will be squeezing paint into small containers of water.  Erin will have some homosote boards to purchase for those without a surface to staple to. Paint supplies included for first session beginners!
